Reflection on Light is Subject Matter:
My light is subject matter picture came out a lot better than I thought. It was the first real picture that I had taken in Photo 1. When I first started shooting this picture I was looking at “pretty things” that I could shoot. At the end of this project I was looking for different patterns on objects from the light. I realized that I wasn’t looking for a perfect picture I was just looking for “light is subject matter” and it was automatically an amazing picture. I was really surprised that I could take a good picture!
I really liked my picture because it was so focused on my clay pot, and all the spider webs from the pot down to the counter. The amount of detail in my picture just amazed me. When the class was critiquing, it opened my eyes to different views on pictures, things that I never thought of. Such things like how a picture can make you feel like you’re at a specific place, or make you feel a certain emotion. I remember looking at someone’s photo and feeling alone because of how the student used space in the picture.
